Are the trade-offs worth it? So hard to say, depending on your situation. In many ways, I feel my life is more peaceful and under control now. I'm grateful for the changes I experienced during the past four years. But losing daily access to my youngest child (the other two are older so it pertains less to them) hurts so much that it's hard to say the trade-off was worth it. - yet here I am, so I HAVE to make it worth it.
