My son had such an intense relationship with his first high school GF and I was devastated by seeing how devastated he was when it ended. He was so lost. I tried to keep him company and urged him to spend time with the friends he had put to the side for the GF. It’s been a couple years now and he has so much clarity on their relationship and why maybe it was too intense and a good thing it ended. It’s been amazing to watch his growth - but seeing him so sad was beyond painful. Best wishes to you til he gets to the other side! It’s hard to be a Mama Bear in these moments.
